More or less a twenty-five minutes walk from the pier of Terre-de-Haut is Fort Napoleon overlooking the Bay of Saintes. It is one of the three forts in Guadeloupe. Be sure to enjoy the view before embarking on your tour!

The Napoleon Fort contains a museum filled with 19th century relics used in the day-to-day life of the Santois people. The guided tour is highly recommended.

Take a stroll through the botanical gardens, it serves as a conservatory for local flora. You may come across the iguanas who guard the fort and who serve as the island’s proud representatives.

Paid entry. Guided tour available.
If trekking up a steep and sunny road to the fort isn’t for you, consider renting a scooter onsite at the pier.
