Le Pain de Sucre (beach)

Renowned beach of Terre-de-Haut, the Pain de Sucre or Sugar Loaf offers such enchanting surroundings that you will quickly understand why tourists and locals alike flock to visit.

A few kilometers from the pier of the village of Terre-de-Haut (scooter rentals make the journey easier) and after a steep descent to the right, you come face to face with a picture perfect view: translucent water, palm trees and white sand at the foot of the Pain de Sucre, the island's iconic and rocky mound, jutting (quite literally!) out of the blue.

Armed with a mask and snorkel, prepare to discover an equally enchanting world just below the surface. Beneath the waves you will find rich and colorful sea life: parrot fish or surgeon, coral, sea urchins... beware their prickly spines. Keep closer to shore on dives as the bay fills up quickly with boats, particularly at the end of the week.
