Sugar plantation and former steam-operated distillery located in the town of Anse-Bertrand, La Mahaudière dates back to the 18th century. Now the property of the conseil général, it has been integrated into the educational and historical trail la Route de l’esclave or ‘the Slave Route’.

At this stop on the trail, explore the remains of the mill, the sugar chimney and part of the mansion.

The residence La Mahaudière also includes a landscaped park, a parcourse, a bowling alley and a picnic are.

Directions: From Anse-Betrand, take the N8 in the direction of Les Mangles for about 2 km then take the D120. The site is located near a crossing at the exit of section Campêche.
