Anse Laborde (beach)

Plage de l'anse Laborde

Voir le trajet

Far from the bustle of Saint-François or Sainte-Anne, and just North of Anse Bertrand, this quiet beach provides a welcome respite. Nestled between limestone cliffs characteristic to the island, this picture-perfect cove features white sand, crystal clear water, carbets (traditional wooden pavilions) offering shade, and a pocket of lush greenery.

Off the beaten path, Anse Laborde is a good place to unwind with family and friends. In calmer weather, this peaceful lagoon is suitable for swimming, however stormy weather makes for rough surf (n.b. In all seasons, look for the signs on the beach indicating the safe swimming area).

Feeling peckish? Head on over to Au Coin des Bons Amis! This small family restaurant conveniently situated on the beach offers Creole food from the grill (fish, ouassous [freshwater prawns], and chicken). Roughly translating to the Good Friend’s Corner, Au Coin des Bons Amis lives up to its name. In this cheerful and relaxed setting, you will feel right at home. Needless to say, Anse Laborde is a place you will fall in love with at first site…
