Le sentier de la Pointe Doublé (hike)

La Désirade

Voir le trajet

The trail of Pointe Doublé is the most easterly of Desirade and therefore the most easterly of the Lesser Antilles. Welcome to the end of the world!
This hike runs along the coastline of Baie-Mahault, through the Desirade savannah, home to local goats.
From Baie-Mahault, the trail begins on a concrete road. From there you will walk on a path with goat barriers before you reach the trail of Pointe Doublé. Once on the trail, you walk through an area populated with short yellow grass, cacti, and shrubs bent from the wind. After walking along the cliffs and the beaches of the coast, you will arrive at the former Desirade meteorological station. From there head for the lighthouse, and finish the trail at Baie-Mahault. Remember to cool off at the Petite Riviere beach!
