Notre Dame des Larmes (sanctuary)

The shrine to Notre Dame des Larmes (Our Lady of Tears) is a place of pilgrimage and remembrance dedicated to the Virgin Mary. She is reputed so have made two appearances here on May 9 and June 3, 1977. At the foot of this oratory, a river flows between the rocks forming small waterfalls. Notre Dame des Larmes is visited for its beauty and by worshippers who light candles and leave offerings.

Directions
In Pointe-Noire, coming from the direction of Deshaies, turn left at Habitation Côte-sous-le-Vent (formerly Maison du bois) and follow la route des Plaines. Pass the Aquaculture Park, continue straight, and follow the directions for Notre Dame des Larmes.
